Zwickey Judo Points For Stump Shooting
I bought four Zwickey Judo arrow heads today (they come in two’s). After getting skunked fishing the other day, I thought maybe I would try to put some meat in the freezer by bringing my Martin Savannah Longbow along to hunt some rabbits just outside of Calgary. Heaven knows there are a ton of rabbits INSIDE Calgary. I see them every day when I go for a walk. I figured if I can’t get a fish on at least I could get a rabbit maybe.
And so the rational for heading off to the Calgary Archery Centre (awesome place, great people) to see what they suggested and the answer was Zwickey Judo points. Good enough for me so I decided to give them a shot.
I head off to the area around Seebe to see what I could find. Long story short, I didn’t get much fishing in because I started having a ball stump shooting. The Zwickeys judo’s are tough as nails. I shot for a couple of hours with the SAME Zwickeys judo and it held up no problem. While I didn’t see any rabbits at this particular location, from asking around, these judo’s apparently do a real job on small game.
So far Zwickey Judo points are my ultimate stump shooting point. The spring arms stopped every arrow shot by standing up in the grass and weedy terrain. I never had a problem finding them. Contrasted to another time I went out with a buddy shooting target points and spent 4 times the amount of time looking for the arrow as I did actually shooting stumps.
The Zwickey judo points that I bought were screw in but Zwickey makes an assortment of glue ins and screw ins in selected weights.
While shooting I found the judo points to be accurate, consistent and tough. I love these for practice shooting now. I keep two judo’s and two broadheads on my bow now. I think the screw in tip is great, because it can be replaced with other tips. I can just throw the bow in the truck and when I get there, pull a Zwickeys judo out of my tackle box and replace a broad head or target point.
Judo points give me the freedom to just get out with my bow and shoot just about anywhere with minimum fuss and a ton of fun.
