10th Longbow Hunt No Moose
Journal day today. I’ll be heading away on vacation soon and today is the 10th longbow hunt in Alberta MWU area 212 and nothing yet. I know they say it can be up to 2 years before you harvest your first animal longbow hunting so I’m being patient.
To be honest with you, I hope my first animal hunting is taken during a morning hunt because dressing and hauling a moose in the dark doesn’t sound as exciting as doing it during the day.
Today we are thinking about calling both elk and moose. I don’t know if dividing your focus like this is a bad thing or not. My gut tells me it’s a bad idea but the A.D.D. side of me says it will be fun.
I at least want to SEE and elk or moose today. I haven’t even SEEN one yet! I still have some whitetail left in the freezer from a gun shooter friend of mine we brought out on a hunt. His first hunt this year. 2 hours in and he fills his tag…. Grrrr. At least there is meat in the freezer
